New Delhi — Congress leader Pawan Khera has questioned the government over the decision to halt Operation Sindoor despite the Indian Air Force chief confirming that five Pakistani jets were shot down by S-400 systems during the operation.

Addressing the media, Khera said, “…If we were so ahead in the war, then under whose pressure did we stop Operation Sindoor? US President Donald Trump tweeted for the first time on the ceasefire… Why is PM Modi not saying that Trump is lying?”

Khera’s remarks follow the IAF chief’s confirmation of significant military success during the operation, which targeted Pakistan-based threats. The Congress leader suggested that external diplomatic influence may have played a role in bringing the operation to an early end.

The comments add a fresh layer to the ongoing political debate surrounding Operation Sindoor, which has been portrayed by the government as a decisive counterterrorism success. Opposition leaders, however, continue to demand greater transparency about the operational timeline and the factors influencing its conclusion.
