Patna | Congress leader Pawan Khera on Friday launched a sharp attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his recent remarks during his visit to Bihar. Responding to Shah’s statement on “jungle raj” and the political situ7ation in the state, Khera questioned the logic behind holding multi-phase elections, alleging selective criticism aimed at the Opposition.

“Then get the Bihar elections held in one phase,” Khera said. “Is there a ‘jungle raj’ wherever elections are held in five phases? Why are elections held in so many phases in Maharashtra or Uttar Pradesh?” he asked, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of double standards in its approach to different states.

Khera further claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was being politically cornered. “Nitish Kumar has been kept in a state of arrest,” he alleged, adding that the BJP’s silence on Kumar’s future role was deliberate. “Last time, the same Home Minister said in a press conference that Nitish Kumar will be the CM. Why isn’t he saying that now? This is a conspiracy, and even Nitish Kumar knows this,” Khera remarked.
