Congress leader Pawan Khera on Saturday launched a sharp criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Goods and Services Tax (GST), alleging inconsistency in his stance before and after coming to power.
Speaking at a press briefing, Khera said, “Before claiming credit for the GST, PM Modi should recall that he was the biggest obstacle to its implementation when he was Gujarat CM. They introduced GST with five slabs and celebrated it, now they are claiming credit for reducing it to two slabs.”
He further remarked, “This PM is unique — I hope this country never gets such a Prime Minister again,” underscoring his party’s dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the indirect tax regime.
