New Delhi | In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, AICC spokesperson Pawan Khera criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's response, contrasting it with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s actions.
"It is necessary to analyse the four days following the Pahalgam terror attack," Khera said. "Rahul Gandhi travelled to Kashmir to meet with the injured and express solidarity, while PM Narendra Modi went to Bihar for an election campaign." He pointed out the contrasting priorities and questioned the BJP’s focus during a national crisis.
Khera further urged the government to deliver a "strong and uncompromising response" to Pakistan in the face of terror threats. He also accused the BJP of deflecting attention by blaming the patriotism of ordinary Indians instead of addressing the security lapse.
Highlighting Pakistan's motives, Khera said, "Pakistan’s objective behind this attack was to damage the livelihoods of Kashmiris and increase communal tension between Hindus and Muslims in India." He stressed that the government must act decisively to counter both external threats and internal discord.
