Delhi | Congress leader and party spokesperson Pawan Khera has sharply criticized Pakistan for its continued targeting of civilians in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, even as India carries out precision strikes under Operation Sindoor. Khera said the international community must recognize the stark contrast between India’s focused attacks on terrorist hideouts and Pakistan’s indiscriminate assault on civilian areas.
“What is happening in Poonch—the way Pakistan is attacking innocent civilians, even damaging a Gurdwara—is deeply disturbing,” Khera said during a media interaction. “The world must see that we are destroying terror sites, the sources of attacks on India, while Pakistan is deliberately targeting civilians. Today, Pakistan stands completely isolated.”
He emphasized the importance of continued international engagement and communication, applauding the Indian government’s efforts to keep the global community informed. “It’s good that we are conveying the situation to the world continuously,” he added.
In a pointed political message, Khera urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the all-party meeting convened in light of the escalating situation. “When the world sees that the PM is moving ahead by taking the opposition in confidence, the world will listen. Unity sends a powerful message,” he said.
