New Delhi, June 17 — The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs is set to convene a crucial meeting at 4 PM today to deliberate on India's strategic outlook in the Indian Ocean region. The session, chaired by senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Dr. Shashi Tharoor, will involve detailed presentations and oral evidence from representatives of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Defence.

The meeting forms part of the committee’s ongoing examination of the subject titled “Evaluation of India's Indian Ocean Strategy,” which aims to assess the country’s maritime priorities, geopolitical engagement, naval preparedness, and regional partnerships in the strategically vital Indian Ocean.
