Parents of Nursing Student Meet Kerala CM After Daughter’s Death

The parents of Ammu Sajeev, a nursing student who tragically died by suicide, met with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Health Minister Veena George today to discuss the investigation into their daughter's death. Ammu's parents, Sajeevan and Radhamani, expressed their satisfaction with the police's progress in the case and the government’s response to their concerns.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Ammu’s parents confirmed that both the Chief Minister and Health Minister assured them that the investigation would be thorough and transparent. Chief Minister Vijayan promised that all facts surrounding the incident would be revealed during the inquiry.

The parents also noted that the Center for Professional & Advanced Studies (C-PASS) has appointed a commission to conduct an independent inquiry into the matter. In addition, the Health Department Director assured that more statements would be gathered from students who might have witnessed the alleged harassment. The report will only be submitted to the Higher Education Minister after all relevant testimonies have been collected.

Ammu's untimely death has raised serious concerns about student welfare and harassment in educational institutions. Authorities have pledged to get to the bottom of the issue, with promises of justice for Ammu and accountability for those responsible.

The incident continues to spark widespread discussion on the need for stronger measures to prevent harassment and ensure a safer environment for students in educational institutions across the state.
