Purnia, Bihar: Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a “true hero” who stands for democracy and inclusiveness, while accusing the government of negligence over his security during the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections.

“A true hero, one who speaks for everyone — not North or South, not Hindu or Muslim — but for democracy and truth. That hero will rise again, and I’m just his brother,” Yadav said while addressing a gathering in Purnia.

Expressing concern over what he termed as inadequate protection for the Congress leader, Yadav alleged that the government was not extending the same level of security provided to top BJP leaders like Amit Shah.

He demanded immediate steps to strengthen Gandhi’s security cover, warning that any lapse would point to a “serious conspiracy”.

“If Rahul Gandhi’s security is not ensured, it means the government is part of a serious conspiracy, and if anything happens to him, the government alone will be responsible,” Yadav said.
