Surat: Palsana Gram Panchayat in Gujarat’s Surat district has earned national recognition by winning the prestigious E-Governance Jury Award at the 28th National E-Governance Conference held in Visakhapatnam.

The Panchayat was honoured for its wide-ranging digital initiatives, which have transformed local governance and service delivery. Among its innovations are online tax collection systems, a dedicated Panchayat website, CCTV-based monitoring for enhanced security, and the successful processing of more than 17,000 applications digitally.

Officials noted that these measures have not only improved transparency but also made essential services more accessible to residents. The model demonstrates how rural institutions can adopt digital platforms to strengthen accountability and efficiency.
