Rural women in Jharkhand are transforming the landscape of entrepreneurship through the Palash brand, launched in 2020 by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The initiative, aimed at empowering women, has provided better packaging, branding, and direct market access, allowing them to bypass middlemen and increase their earnings.
Since its inception, Palash Mart has expanded to over 46 outlets and 24 display counters, connecting more than 2 lakh women entrepreneurs across the state. The initiative has already crossed Rs 40 crore in revenue, reflecting the growing impact of women-led businesses in rural areas.
Beyond financial empowerment, Palash is fostering leadership and pride among these women, positioning them as role models and champions within their communities. By giving them a platform to showcase their products and engage in business, the initiative has strengthened self-reliance and inspired younger generations to pursue entrepreneurship.
