Srinagar: Over 700 Agniveers participated in a grand passing out parade at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Training Centre in Srinagar on Thursday, marking the culmination of an intense 31-week training programme. The ceremony formally inducted the young recruits into the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment.

The parade showcased the discipline, endurance and military preparedness of the recruits, who marched in unison before senior Army officers, instructors and invited dignitaries. The event also underscored the growing role of the Agnipath scheme in bolstering the Armed Forces with young, motivated personnel.

For the families of the new Agniveers, who arrived from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir and neighbouring regions, the ceremony was an emotional moment of pride. Many were seen cheering, capturing the landmark occasion on their phones, and embracing their wards as they stepped into their careers in military service.

Army officials praised the determination of the recruits, highlighting the rigorous physical, technical and weapons training they underwent over the past several months. The JAKLI Training Centre is known for shaping soldiers capable of operating in some of the country’s most challenging terrains.
