Kolkata, West Bengal | Reacting to the Supreme Court’s notice to the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the Bihar elections, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday accused the Opposition of attempting to create unrest over an issue that, he said, has been routine and transparent.

Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Ghosh stated, “SIR has been conducted 12 times before this... The Opposition has no topics. They are losing elections, so they are trying to create chaos and also drag the court into it.”

Ghosh defended the credibility of the electoral process and dismissed allegations questioning the integrity of the polls. He argued that Opposition parties were resorting to legal and political manoeuvres to divert attention from their declining public support.

Commenting on the political dynamics between Bihar and West Bengal, Ghosh highlighted the influence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling him a leader with a “credible image.” He added, “If the NDA wins in the Bihar elections, that will also help the BJP in Bengal.”
