Gandhinagar — In a strong statement underscoring the efficiency of India’s border defence, Inspector General of BSF Gujarat Frontier, Abhishek Pathak, revealed that over 500 drones were launched by Pakistan across the Gujarat border following May 8. However, due to the preparedness of Indian forces, all threats were effectively neutralized with no casualties reported.

Speaking during the briefing on Operation Sindoor, IG Pathak detailed the scale and seriousness of the cross-border aerial threats. “After May 8, Pakistan attacked with missiles and drones, but the air defence system of our forces performed very well and no harm was caused to us,” he said.

He added, “At the Gujarat frontier, more than 500 drones were sent by Pakistan... but no security personnel or civilians were harmed,” crediting the alertness and capability of the Indian air defence and surveillance systems deployed in the region.
