Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Naveen Patnaik, has written to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, calling for immediate measures to support the state’s farmers. Patnaik’s letter emphasized the urgent need to restore farmers’ confidence and provide adequate compensation for their losses within a stipulated timeline.
In his letter, Patnaik expressed concerns over the plight of farmers in the state, highlighting the challenges they face due to adverse weather conditions, low crop yields, and financial distress. “The state’s farmers are going through a difficult phase. It is imperative that the government takes immediate steps to address their grievances and provide them with the support they deserve,” he wrote.
Patnaik demanded a transparent and efficient mechanism to ensure timely compensation, urging the state government to act decisively. He also stressed the importance of boosting the morale of the farming community, which forms the backbone of Odisha’s economy.
