Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday called it a “good day for Odisha” as the state marked the groundbreaking ceremony of the SICSEM semiconductor project, one of two projects approved for the state by the Central government.
“A few days ago, the Central government approved four semiconductor projects, and Odisha received two of them. Today marks the groundbreaking ceremony of the SICSEM project. This is a significant achievement for Odisha,” Majhi said while addressing the gathering.
He recalled the state’s participation in the SEMICON India Conclave held in New Delhi, where he had the opportunity to interact directly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “When we attended the SEMICON India conclave held in Delhi, PM Modi granted me the freedom to pursue partnerships. During the roadshow, we had a one-to-one conversation with a solar company, after which we signed three MoUs with the company,” he noted.
