As regional tensions between India and Pakistan escalate, the Odisha government has issued an emergency directive cancelling all sanctioned leaves for senior administrative officers, including Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs), District Collectors, and District Magistrates (DMs).
A senior official from the General Administration Department confirmed that all such officers have been instructed to return to their respective headquarters without delay and resume duty with immediate effect. “No further leave will be granted during this period,” the order stated, underlining the seriousness of the current situation.
The move comes amid growing uncertainty and military mobilizations across several Indian states, especially in border areas. While Odisha is not directly adjacent to the conflict zone, the government’s decision reflects a nationwide posture of heightened preparedness for any potential national emergency.
