Bhubaneswar: Odisha Minister Mukesh Mahaling expressed optimism regarding the BJP’s prospects in the forthcoming Rajya Sabha by-elections, asserting that the party’s numerical strength gives it an edge.

“We will definitely participate, and we are hopeful that given our numbers, it is the BJP candidates who would go to Rajya Sabha,” Mahaling said while addressing the media.

When asked about the party’s candidate selection process, he pointed to the BJP’s established practices. “It is the tradition of the BJP that our central parliamentary board decides the candidates. So, it is too premature to say anything,” he added.

The upcoming by-elections are set to witness intense competition among major political parties, with the BJP aiming to strengthen its representation in the Rajya Sabha. Mahaling’s statement reflects the party’s confidence in its organizational discipline and strategic planning.

As the by-election date approaches, political dynamics in Odisha are expected to intensify, with all eyes on the BJP’s candidate announcement and campaign strategy.
