New Delhi: The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding that a college under the University of Delhi be named after the late former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The student body also called for the establishment of a Central University in his honor and the inclusion of his life journey and contributions in academic curricula.

In their letter, the NSUI highlighted Dr. Singh’s extraordinary contributions to India as an economist and statesman. “Dr. Manmohan Singh was not only a great Prime Minister but also a globally recognized economist who played a pivotal role in shaping India’s economic policies. It is imperative that his legacy be preserved and celebrated,” the letter stated.

The NSUI emphasized the importance of educating future generations about Dr. Singh's life and achievements, particularly his role in liberalizing India's economy in the 1990s. They proposed that his story be incorporated into academic curricula to inspire students and highlight the significance of visionary leadership in governance and economic reform.
