NSG IG Deepak Kedia Honored with Prestigious 'CA in Public Service' Award

Inspector General of National Security Guard and senior 1999 batch IPS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Deepak Kumar Kedia, has been conferred with the prestigious 'CA in Public Service' award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The award was presented at the World Forum of Accountants Meet held on February 1, 2025, at Yashobhoomi, Delhi.

Mr. Kedia, known for his multifaceted expertise, is among the few police officers in India holding multiple professional degrees, including CA, CS, CMA, LLB, and MACS. His academic excellence and distinguished service in law enforcement have set a unique benchmark in the Indian police force.

Currently serving as IG in NSG on central deputation, Mr. Kedia has previously held key positions, including Additional Director in the Enforcement Directorate and Additional Director General of Assam Police. His tenure in Assam saw his remarkable contributions in handling critical situations, notably during the CAA movement, where he played a pivotal role as Inspector General of Police, Law and Order.

Beyond this recent honor, Mr. Kedia has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service, Chief Minister’s Special Service Medal in 2021, and the Election Commission’s Special Category Award for Security Management during Elections.

Receiving the 'CA in Public Service' award amidst a gathering of Chartered Accountants from over 40 countries, Mr. Kedia's recognition highlights his dedication, integrity, and significant contributions to both public service and financial expertise. His achievement marks a proud moment for the Indian police fraternity and the accounting community alike.
