Patna, Bihar: JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar is poised to take charge as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar on Wednesday, marking a key step toward the formation of a new government in the state. The formal election of Kumar as the alliance leader is expected to consolidate the coalition’s structure ahead of the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for November 20.
According to party leaders, the NDA partners have already reached a broad consensus, with today's meeting serving as the procedural confirmation of Kumar’s leadership. The move comes after days of internal consultations among the coalition parties, including the JD(U), BJP, and smaller allies, following the recent electoral mandate.
“Nitish Kumar is set to be elected as the leader of the NDA in Bihar on Wednesday,” a senior JD(U) functionary said, indicating that the alliance is fully aligned on the choice of chief minister. His election as leader will officially initiate the process for government formation.
