Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday carried out an aerial survey of several flood-affected districts to assess the extent of damage caused by rising river levels following days of torrential rainfall. The inspection came a day after he chaired a high-level meeting to review the situation and instruct officials to step up relief and rehabilitation efforts.

According to official estimates, around 25 lakh people across 10 districts have been impacted by the floods, with many areas inundated as multiple rivers continue to flow above danger marks. The persistent rainfall in the region and upstream areas has led to severe waterlogging, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted transport and communication links.
