Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday arrived at the Old Secretariat to chair a crucial Cabinet meeting, marking the final administrative steps before the formal dissolution of the current government. The move comes in the wake of the recently concluded Assembly elections, in which the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won a resounding mandate.
According to officials, a letter recommending the dissolution of the existing government will be submitted to the Governor shortly after the Cabinet meeting. This procedural step is expected to pave the way for the swift formation of a new government under the NDA, which registered a decisive victory in the polls.
The NDA secured 202 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly—an overwhelming three-fourths majority—positioning itself to form the next government without contest. The strong mandate is likely to ensure a smooth transition of power and has already set the political machinery in motion for the next phase of governance.
