Sitamarhi | Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, as part of his ongoing ‘Pragati Yatra,’ inaugurated the much-anticipated Riga Sugar Mill in Sitamarhi earlier today. The event marked a significant step toward boosting the local economy and supporting sugarcane farmers in the region.
During the visit, the Chief Minister engaged with local residents, attentively listening to their grievances and suggestions. Emphasizing his government’s commitment to development, Kumar laid the foundation stone for several new projects and inaugurated a Panchayat Government Building in the area.
In addition to the inauguration ceremonies, Kumar also inspected various stalls showcasing government welfare schemes and initiatives. To further reinforce his administration's support for local beneficiaries, he personally distributed cheques under different development programs.
The reopening of the Riga Sugar Mill is expected to rejuvenate the sugarcane farming sector in Sitamarhi and its surrounding areas, providing a significant economic boost and generating employment opportunities for local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar reaffirmed his government’s focus on development and rural welfare. “Our aim is to ensure that every individual benefits from the state’s growth. We are working diligently to address people’s concerns and provide solutions that improve their quality of life,” he said.
