New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey launched a sharp critique of Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he lacks seriousness in his parliamentary role and routinely disregards established norms and procedures of the House.
“Rahul Gandhi is the only LoP in the history of the country who wants nothing to do with the interests of the country,” Dubey said while addressing the media in Delhi. He questioned Gandhi’s level of engagement in parliamentary proceedings, saying, “Have you ever seen him do serious politics? He appears in front of the media for hardly two minutes. His attendance in many sessions is zero.”
Referring to Rule 349 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, Dubey said, “Parliament has certain rules and ethics. Rule 349 says a member cannot leave the House soon after speaking. If a member wants to speak, he/she should sit in the House. I think he hasn't read the rules.”
He also advised Gandhi to learn about parliamentary functioning from senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, if not from others.
Commenting on Gandhi’s remarks concerning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, Dubey said, “His statement reflects that he is unaware of the law passed by his father. A similar SIR was conducted in 2003 as well.”
Dubey further claimed that India has achieved success in “Operation Sindoor,” stating that the provisional report indicates progress, and “the permanent report will be made when we take over POK.”
