The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested another key accused in connection with last month’s Delhi bomb blast case, intensifying its ongoing crackdown on the network suspected to be behind the incident. The arrested individual, identified as Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla, hails from Baramulla in Jammu & Kashmir and is the eighth accused to be taken into custody in case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, according to an official release by the agency.
NIA officials said that Dr. Malla was apprehended by an NIA team in Delhi following credible intelligence inputs regarding his movements and possible involvement. The agency stated that his role in the broader conspiracy is now under investigation, including potential links with the already arrested individuals and other suspects still absconding.
The Delhi bomb blast, which occurred last month, had triggered a multi-agency probe due to its location and the suspected network behind it. Over the past weeks, the NIA has conducted multiple raids across several states, seizing electronic devices, documents, and other materials believed to be vital to the investigation.
With Monday’s arrest, the agency believes it is inching closer to unravelling the full extent of the conspiracy. Dr. Malla is currently being questioned, and officials indicated that more arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.
