New Delhi: Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), announced significant initiatives to ensure clean drinking water for the public, highlighting the council’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, NDMC is creating new records of developments every day. NDMC will provide clean drinking water to the public,” Chahal stated during a press briefing. He emphasized that these efforts align with the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India).
Chahal outlined a comprehensive plan to upgrade the water supply infrastructure, which includes strengthening the 470 km long pipeline network, installing new pumps and boosters, and deploying staff to repair existing pipelines.
He took the opportunity to criticize Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his government, accusing them of inaction and corruption. “I challenge Arvind Kejriwal to tell about a single work that he has done to provide clean drinking water. The AAP government is only known for scandals and corruption,” Chahal remarked.
The Vice Chairman’s comments come amid growing concerns about water quality in the capital and highlight a growing political debate over governance and public welfare in Delhi. The NDMC’s initiatives aim to set a benchmark in urban development and public health under central le
adership.
