Patna, Bihar: The formation of a new NDA government in Bihar appears imminent, with Janata Dal (United) leader Rajeev Ranjan Prasad indicating that the oath-taking ceremony could be held as early as tomorrow. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Prasad said that internal discussions within the alliance were progressing smoothly and that the remaining issues would be resolved by evening. “The oath ceremony may take place tomorrow, and the state will once again get a strong NDA government,” he said, adding that leaders would brief the media once final deliberations conclude.
The JDU leader also launched a sharp critique against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), pointing to what he described as growing contradictions within the Lalu Yadav family. Referring to recent remarks by Rohini Acharya, who questioned Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership, Prasad noted the contrasting stance of Tej Pratap Yadav, who publicly congratulated the NDA after the election results. “There are contradictions within the family members,” he said. “Rohini has raised questions about Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership, while Tej Pratap is congratulating the NDA.”
Prasad further criticised the RJD for questioning electronic voting machines (EVMs) instead of reflecting on its electoral setbacks. “Those who blame the EVM instead of engaging in self-introspection will not be brought back by the public for a very long time,” he said. He added that persistent denial after electoral defeat would likely deepen the party’s challenges going forward.
