New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel has announced that his party will contest a few seats in the upcoming Delhi elections while keeping the door open for a potential alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Patel criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for its lack of development work and claimed that the people of Delhi are seeking change.

“NCP has been contesting elections in Delhi for the last 25 years. People of Delhi want change. The AAP government in Delhi has not done any work for the people,” said Patel during an interaction with the media.

The veteran leader emphasized that the NCP would field candidates in selective constituencies while exploring the possibility of joining hands with the NDA. “We will contest elections on some seats. We will also talk to the NDA. If things work out, then we will definitely intend to form an alliance with them,” Patel added.

Patel’s remarks mark a significant shift in the NCP’s strategy, as it has traditionally been part of opposition alliances. The overture toward the NDA signals a pragmatic approach to Delhi’s political landscape, where smaller parties often face challenges in competing against established players like the AAP and BJP.

The NCP’s decision comes as the political atmosphere in Delhi intensifies ahead of elections. With the BJP aiming to regain control and AAP striving to retain its hold, the possibility of new alliances adds another layer of intrigue to the electoral battle.
