As part of his ongoing visit to the United States, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi inspected the US Navy’s advanced Arleigh Burke–class guided-missile destroyer USS Daniel Inouye, where he was briefed on the vessel’s latest technological enhancements and multi-mission capabilities. The destroyer, equipped with cutting-edge maritime surveillance and combat systems, represents a crucial component of the US Navy’s forward-deployed presence in the Indo-Pacific.

According to the Indian Navy, Admiral Tripathi was given detailed insights into the ship’s modern modifications and its versatility across surface, air, and subsurface missions. The visit, it said, underscored the growing emphasis on information sharing and operational alignment between the two maritime forces.

The Navy chief also visited Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, one of the United States’ most strategically important military installations. At the base, Admiral Tripathi received briefings on the operational capabilities, deployments, and ongoing initiatives of the US Pacific Fleet, along with interactions with key units stationed at the facility.

The Indian Navy said the engagements reinforced the importance of strengthening interoperability and enhancing operational synergy between India and the United States. The visit highlighted shared strategic interests in maintaining peace, stability, and a resilient security architecture in the Indo-Pacific region.
