Bhubaneswar, Odisha: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently highlighted several law and order issues during an ongoing discussion with the Home Department. Patnaik expressed his concerns over the rising instances of communal violence in the state and specific incidents that have shocked the local population.

During his address, Patnaik mentioned the communal violence that has erupted in Balasore and continues to affect other regions of the state. "As the Home Department's discussion is going on, I spoke of the law and order situation in the state, touching upon communal violence which has taken place in Balasore and continues in other parts of the state," Patnaik stated.

In addition to discussing the communal unrest, Patnaik also brought attention to a recent murder in the Khordha district, underscoring the need for better management of law and order to ensure the safety of citizens.

Patnaik also referred to the mismanagement of the recent Rath Yatra, a significant religious event in Odisha, where the shrine of Lord Balabhadra was accidentally toppled to the ground. "The recent murder in Khordha district and the mismanagement of the Rath Yatra, when the shrine of Lord Balabhadra was toppled onto the ground, shocked millions of Odia people," he added.
