Naqvi Slams Rahul Gandhi Over ‘Democracy Under Attack’ Remark

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday took aim at Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his remarks alleging that democracy was under attack in India.

Responding to Gandhi’s recent comments, Naqvi accused the Congress of equating itself with the nation and said such a perspective was misleading and damaging to the party’s own standing.

“How long they will live in this attitude that Congress is country and country is Congress. They believe that if the Congress has weakened then the country too has weakened. Such a mindset of the Congress is hurting them only,” Naqvi said in a statement.
