Nagpur, Maharashtra: Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole strongly defended his party against allegations of anti-social activities, emphasizing the sacrifices made by Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi for the nation and its Constitution.
Speaking to reporters, Patole said, “Congress is never involved in any anti-social activity. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the nation and the Constitution of India.”
He highlighted the success of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, describing it as a unifying movement for the country. “Rahul Gandhi received a lot of support in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, and he united the nation,” Patole asserted.
Amid the ongoing controversies, Patole disclosed that he had written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, seeking transparency on the allegations. “I wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding a list of the organizations,” he revealed, referring to accusations concerning certain groups’ involvement in anti-social activities.
Patole’s remarks come as the Congress continues to counter claims made by BJP leaders, including accusations regarding the party’s historical and contemporary conduct. With the political temperature rising in Maharashtra, the demand for clarity on allegations adds another dimension to the state’s vibrant political discourse.
