In a significant development in the Nagpur violence case, the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has granted a stay on the demolition of properties belonging to the petitioner, including prime accused Faheem Khan and Yusuf Sheikh. The Court raised concerns over the absence of a hearing for the property owners before the demolition action was carried out.

According to the High Court, the authorities failed to give the owners an opportunity to present their case regarding the alleged illegal construction. "The absence of a prior hearing raises serious legal questions," the court observed, while putting the demolition process on hold.

However, Faheem Khan's property had already been demolished before the High Court issued its stay order earlier this afternoon. The Court has now directed the government and municipal authorities to provide a formal response on the matter.

The case has been scheduled for further hearing on April 15, where the court will examine the legality of the demolition process and whether due process was followed. The decision comes amid rising concerns over administrative actions taken in response to recent violence in the city.
