New Delhi: BJP leader V Muraleedharan criticized the Congress and Communist parties for what he termed as their double standards on the Waqf amendment bill, accusing them of inconsistent stances at the state and national levels.
“In Kerala, in Cochin, the Christian community and the fisherman community are protesting to establish their rights after the Waqf board issued an unjustifiable notice to the landowners,” Muraleedharan said, highlighting the ongoing agitation.
He alleged that local leaders of the CPM and Congress publicly support the aggrieved communities in Kerala but adopt a contradictory stance in Delhi. “The CPM and Congress leaders come and support them in Kerala, but when they go to Delhi, they oppose the rightful authority of the people who are holding their property,” he remarked.
Muraleedharan's comments come amid growing debates over the Waqf amendment bill, which has sparked protests and discussions across various states. The BJP leader reiterated his party's support for protecting property rights and ensuring justice for affected communities.
