During a recent statement in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, BJP leader V. Muraleedharan addressed the nationwide outrage over the rape and death of a medical student in Kolkata, emphasizing the critical issues concerning women's safety. He also pointed to the Hema committee report, which documents numerous atrocities against women in the Kerala film industry.
Muraleedharan criticized Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for ignoring the report and failing to take legal action against those named. He likened Vijayan's stance to that of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that both leaders are more interested in protecting the accused than supporting the victims.
