Mumbai: Continuous rainfall in Mumbai on Monday led to disruptions in air traffic, with flights experiencing minor delays. Low visibility and congestion at the city’s airports affected schedules, prompting airlines to issue advisories to passengers.
IndiGo, one of the country’s largest carriers, released a statement addressing the situation. “Continuous rainfall in Mumbai is currently affecting air traffic, causing minor delays in flight operations. Our teams are working closely with air traffic control and will get you moving as soon as conditions allow,” the airline said.
The advisory further urged passengers to stay updated on their flight schedules before heading to the airport. “Before heading to the airport, please check your flight status on our website or app. Also, do allow some extra travel time, roads are likely to be slow-moving,” the airline added, acknowledging the impact of heavy rain on road traffic in the city.
