Kolkata: Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani lauded Bengal’s economic transformation while addressing the 8th edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2025. Speaking to a gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, and international delegates, Ambani described Bengal as a land experiencing a dual renaissance—one rooted in culture and the other in economic growth.
“Bengal has always been a land of renaissance. Now Bengal is also witnessing a renaissance in economy and business,” Ambani stated. Highlighting the summit’s increasing prominence, he remarked, “This summit is consistently becoming bigger and more prestigious, and today we have 20 global partner countries with us.”
Ambani’s speech underscored the growing confidence of the business community in the state’s leadership. He praised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her commitment to economic development and her ability to deliver on promises. “Bengal under Mamata Didi means business, and Mamata Didi always means business—and business from our heart. What the Chief Minister promises, her team delivers. This is the hallmark of a great leader,” he added.
Ambani also emphasized the significance of policy continuity in Bengal, pointing out that Banerjee’s nearly 14-year tenure has provided the stability necessary for long-term investment and growth. “Bengal has immensely benefitted from policy continuity and her leadership,” he noted, signaling Reliance’s confidence in the state’s future as a business hub.
