Ranchi, Jharkhand: In a recent meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Minister of State (MoS) for Defence, Sanjay Seth, discussed the growing presence of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets in the state and the plans to establish a dedicated training center.
Reflecting on his own NCC experience in the 1970s, Seth noted, "I was also an NCC cadet in the 1970s. Now, there are 20 lakh cadets in the country, and in Jharkhand, there are 26,000 cadets and more people are likely to join." He emphasized the importance of providing better training infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of cadets in the region.
Seth went on to reveal that the state of Jharkhand currently shares a common NCC training center with Bihar, but plans are underway to build a separate facility exclusively for Jharkhand. "I want to build a big training centre in Jharkhand. The CM (Hemant Soren) has also agreed to build a separate training centre here," Seth added.
