Kanwar Yatra
By A Staff Reporter
Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh: In a proactive move to safeguard the health and well-being of pilgrims participating in the Kanwar Yatra, the Moradabad Health Department has established comprehensive medical support systems across the district.
According to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Kuldeep Singh, a total of 11 health camps have been set up along two major national highways passing through Moradabad, which are key routes for Kanwar Yatris. “These camps provide 24/7 medical services throughout the month, staffed by doctors and paramedical personnel,” Singh stated.
In addition to the stationary camps, the district administration has deployed 11 mobile medical teams, each comprising a health worker and paramedic. These teams patrol the Kanwar routes on motorcycles, offering immediate assistance to any pilgrim in need.
“We are continuously monitoring the routes to ensure that no Kanwariya is left unattended,” the CMO added. To strengthen the emergency response system, 10 ambulances have also been stationed at various police stations along the pilgrimage route.
The Kanwar Yatra, a significant annual pilgrimage undertaken by Lord Shiva devotees, sees a large influx of participants walking long distances, often through challenging weather conditions. The health camps are designed to address issues such as dehydration, fatigue, and injuries.
