New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed that the southwest monsoon is progressing swiftly and is expected to reach Delhi and adjoining regions within the next two days. Senior IMD Scientist RK Jenamani stated that conditions are highly favourable for the monsoon to advance further into Punjab, Haryana, and additional parts of Rajasthan.

“The monsoon has advanced rapidly. Conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance into Punjab, Haryana, and more parts of Rajasthan. It will reach Delhi and other areas in the subsequent two days,” Jenamani said in a media briefing.

He also noted a positive trend in rainfall patterns this year, calling it “a very good monsoon.” The percentage of rainfall, he added, has notably increased in comparison to previous years.

“This is good news for agriculture, especially for our farmers,” Jenamani emphasized, underlining the importance of timely and ample rainfall for crop cycles and food production.
