Imphal, Manipur: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday invoked the longevity of Indian civilisation while addressing a gathering in Imphal, emphasising that nations and cultures throughout history have risen and fallen, but India continues to endure because of its unique civilisational roots.

“Everyone needs to think about circumstances. But you see, circumstances change,” Bhagwat said, noting that nations across the world have faced extreme challenges. “Some nations perished. Yunaan (Greece), Misr (Egypt) and Roma, all civilisations perished from the face of the earth. There is something in our civilisation that we are still here.”

Calling Bharat an “immortal civilisation,” Bhagwat highlighted what he described as the inherent strength and social networks embedded within Indian society. According to him, this cultural resilience has ensured the continuity of communities and traditions that date back thousands of years.

“We have created a network in our society because of which the Hindu community will always be there,” he said, adding that the values and practices passed down through generations form the backbone of Indian cultural sustenance. He went on to remark that “the world will cease to exist if Hindus cease to exist,” underscoring his belief in the global significance of the community’s philosophical outlook.
