MHA Reports Record Success in Anti-Naxal Operations; 312 Militants Eliminated, Over 1,600 Surrender

Under PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s leadership, the MHA announced record operational gains against Naxals, with over 300 killed, 800 arrested, and 1,600 surrendering in 2025.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday announced record-breaking achievements in anti-Naxal operations under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The ministry said that the ongoing efforts to eliminate Left Wing Extremism (LWE) have produced unprecedented results this year.

According to the MHA, 312 Naxal cadres have been eliminated in security operations, 836 have been arrested, and 1,639 have surrendered to join the mainstream. The figures mark the highest operational success against Naxal groups to date, reflecting the government’s intensified campaign to curb insurgency across affected regions.

The ministry reiterated the government’s commitment to completely eradicate the Naxal menace by March 31, 2026, emphasizing a coordinated approach involving development, security, and rehabilitation measures.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, this year’s operational successes have surpassed all previous records,” the MHA said in a statement.
