Mehbooba Mufti
By A Staff Reporter
Jammu | Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday took a swipe at National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah, accusing him of deflecting blame for governance failures instead of addressing people’s pressing concerns.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Mufti said that despite a year having passed since the Congress-NC alliance government took office, citizens continue to face serious challenges such as unemployment, poverty, and “bulldozer actions.” She pointed out that voters had placed their trust in the alliance hoping for relief and effective governance.
“One year has passed since this government was formed. People voted in large numbers, even in areas where elections had been earlier boycotted. People were facing problems like unemployment, poverty, and bulldozer actions. Hence, they elected a strong Congress-NC alliance government,” Mufti said.
However, the PDP chief alleged that Omar Abdullah has failed to take responsibility for unfulfilled promises. “When people in Budgam ask Omar Abdullah where he was, he blames the PDP and the BJP. When people question him about his poll promises regarding meters, free electricity, and gas cylinders, he again blames PDP,” she added.
