Lucknow — Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Thursday launched a scathing attack on both the Congress and BJP, accusing the two national parties of systematically diluting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution to serve their own political interests.

Speaking at a party event in Lucknow, Mayawati said, “For the welfare and well-being of the entire society in the country, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar has given India the Constitution. The Congress party, while in power, and now the people of the BJP-led NDA government, have never implemented it with full honesty and integrity for the crores of people of the country.”

She alleged that successive governments led by both parties have made “many unnecessary changes in the Constitution,” often influenced by their respective ideologies and political agendas, rather than national interest or social justice.

Mayawati also accused the two parties of engaging in a tacit understanding when it comes to maintaining the status quo. “Both the Congress and the BJP are often in collusion with each other,” she claimed, reinforcing her long-standing position that the BSP stands apart as a true defender of Ambedkarite values and the rights of Dalits, backward classes, and the marginalized.
