West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed multiple lives and left several others injured. In a post on social media, the Chief Minister expressed profound grief and called the incident “utterly reprehensible.”
“I am deeply anguished by the brutal terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir. My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured,” Banerjee wrote.
She went on to stress that such acts of terror cannot be tolerated and must face appropriate consequences. “This act of violence is utterly reprehensible and must not go unpunished,” she added.
The attack, which targeted civilians, has sparked outrage across the country, drawing condemnation from leaders across the political spectrum. Security forces have launched investigations and combing operations in the region as part of a broader crackdown on militant activity.
