JAIPUR — Addressing the 'Samvidhan Bachao' rally at Ramlila Maidan in Jaipur, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed deep sorrow over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and called for national unity in the face of such tragedies.
"I pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack," Kharge said, referring to the horrific incident in which 26 people were killed on the spot. Highlighting the faith that tourists place in Kashmir's safety as an integral part of India, he lamented the violence that shattered that sense of security.
Kharge recalled that he had previously addressed the issue during a press conference in Bengaluru, where he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the national security implications of the attack. "When our national pride is attacked, it becomes everyone’s duty to stay united," he emphasized.
Reiterating the Congress party's stance, Kharge assured full cooperation with the government’s efforts to respond to the attack, stating, "During these difficult times, we told the government that we stand together and will cooperate with any action taken."
