Maharashtra – Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, strongly defended Shiv Sena’s ideology and leadership while addressing ongoing political debates in the state. Speaking at a public event, Shinde emphasized that the party’s roots lay in the vision of the late Balasaheb Thackeray, and his ideals continue to guide Shiv Sena’s path.
“We joined Shiv Sena with Balasaheb's ideas. Balasaheb and Shiv Sainiks worked to make Shiv Sena big. We formed the government on the basis of Balasaheb's ideas,” Shinde said, underlining the importance of adhering to the founder’s principles in shaping the party’s political journey.
Shinde also took aim at those who he believes deviated from these principles. "Never in history has any alliance received so many votes. The public gave a befitting reply to those who abandoned Balasaheb's ideas," he asserted, referencing the results of recent elections, including the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.
He further claimed that Shiv Sena is a party that "keeps its word," pointing to the public mandate as evidence that the people have shown who is "real and who is fake." In a clear swipe at the opposition, Shinde accused them of resorting to baseless allegations while asserting that he had consistently responded with tangible action. "They should introspect," he said, referring to the opposition parties.
