New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the state’s recent challenges and ongoing development initiatives. The meeting focused on the impact of heavy rains and floods on farmers and the need for substantial Central assistance.
According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Fadnavis apprised the Prime Minister of the losses suffered by farmers due to the severe weather conditions and submitted a memorandum requesting robust support from the Union Government. PM Modi assured that the Centre would stand firmly behind Maharashtra’s farming community during this difficult period.
Beyond flood relief, the discussions also covered key infrastructure and economic initiatives. CM Fadnavis highlighted the Defence Corridor projects in Maharashtra, requested concessions for steel production in Gadchiroli, and sought the transfer of land in Dahisar belonging to the Airports Authority of India.
