Pune, Maharashtra – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday spoke at the inauguration ceremony of India’s indigenous 4G mobile network, emphasizing its role in improving connectivity, governance, and public services in rural areas.
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, we have developed pure indigenous technology. When connectivity reaches villages, only then do we connect them with the world,” Fadnavis said. He highlighted that enhanced connectivity would enable children to access quality education, improve health facilities, and provide farmers with vital information on crops and weather conditions.
Fadnavis noted that Maharashtra has already digitized over 100 government services, making them available online. He added that the state is preparing a system through which citizens can access government services directly on mobile phones, track the status of their applications, and know the officer handling their requests. The plan also includes mechanisms to ensure accountability and impose fines on officers in case of delays.
“The backbone for all these initiatives is connectivity. With today’s launch of indigenous 4G, connectivity in villages will increase, laying the foundation for better access to services and development opportunities,” the Chief Minister said
