Madhya Pradesh CM Reviews Civil Defense Readiness Ahead of Statewide Mock Drills

Bhopal: In a proactive move to bolster state-level preparedness amid rising national security concerns, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a crucial review meeting on Wednesday in the Ministry's situation room. The meeting focused on the planning and readiness for upcoming civil defense mock drills scheduled across five key districts — Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Bhopal, and Katni.

The virtual meeting brought together collectors and senior officials from the respective districts, where CM Yadav emphasized the importance of acting with "complete alertness, vigilance, sensitivity, and promptness" in any potential emergency scenario.

“In view of national security, we thoroughly reviewed the preparations for the mock drills,” Yadav said in a social media post following the meeting. “Instructions have been issued to ensure coordinated, efficient, and rapid responses. The safety of every citizen of the state is our topmost priority. Our government is firmly committed to this.”

The mock drills are part of a larger national directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, encouraging states to assess emergency response frameworks amid emerging security threats, particularly following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
